Are animal rights organizations out-of-control?

I think they are. I believe though that all animals, when used as nutrition for humans, should be killed in the most humane way possible.
Crazy nutcases are just crazy nutcases, wether it is animal rights nutcases or envionmental nutcases, or even endangered species nutcases.
As for me, I am a human survival nutcase.
Just my not-so-humble opinion. B)
Whacked off the turkeys head and stuffed him in the oven.
Humane enough for ya?
xD
That's hot.
Bacteria Rights! How many trees did you have to kill for your animal rights signs? end sarcasm
Animal rights groups are the craziest sort of idiots. liberals like to attack religious wackos. They'd have more credibility if they'd do the same towards the Animal Liberation Front.
And that is why we have the ASPCA!
When an animal demands rights for itself, I will wholeheartedly fight for its rights, but until then I'll continue to bake and fry them because damn are they tasty.
Yea but animals are treated cruelly sometimes.
Yea but what if extraterrestrials do the same thing to us. We could be like a pig to them. They say that our adrenaline glands are like cocaine to them. That's the theory out there.
Why can’t we use the meat of animals to feed our own starving population? It’s not like animals have a sense of fairness, they won’t show mercy on their prey (including us), so why can we not show mercy on them. I believe that a starving human deserves to live over any animal.
huh? I'm not going to change my position about animal rights based on a "what if" scenario involving aliens.
Once again we leave the realm of debate and enter the realm of story. "That's the theory out there"? What does that mean Jared, have aliens been harvesting humans for adrenaline glands?
Maybe you should read your comment out loud to yourself, then edit it with some facts.
What does your "contribution" to this debate add to it's relavance? You've already stated that you feel animals should be slaughtered in a humane a way as possible, and thats a noble sentiment. But coming out with a statement that ETs are harvesting our organs to get high isn't even a plausible "what if" scenario.
Many people feel that some animals attain a level of intelligence higher than dogs or cats. Pigs, for example are supposed to be extrememly loyal, affectionate, and intelligent as pets. Why then do so many Americans eat pigs but not dogs/cats? Where does our level of domestic affection cut off for pets?
That aside, I would never eat a dog or a cat (knowingly at least. I know we all joke about Chinese restaurants). But even knowing that there is a chance a pig is an intelligent(ish) animal, I still eat pork, I love pork.
Animal rights activists are definitely out of control. PETA is a monsterous organization that spends more time frightening people than actually helping animals. The ASPCA if a fine organization, and while it's true no animal should be purposely mistreated there is something to consider in human physiology regarding tooth structure and bodily metabolism and that is:
We are built to eat both plant AND flesh. Humans have stubby herbivore teeth in the back for grinding plant matter, and sharp thearing teeth in the front for chomping sections off of meaty haunches. It's a simple fact that man is built for meat. Whether you think God made us as omnivores, or whether you think evolution built us into omnivores; the fact reamins the same. Mankind is omnivorous and will therefore be reliant on lesser animals for sustenance.
Animal rights organizations must come to terms with this.
Our teeth may have evolved but our digestive systems have not. Our digestive system is the same as any herbivore, the intestines are much longer so we can draw out all the nutrients from our food. When herbivores such as ourselves, ingest flesh it actually putrefies before it is excreted.
The system of a carnivore processes their food much quicker to stop this happening.
But back to the teeth comment…. there are some mighty tough fruits and vegies out there that defiantly need sharper teeth to eat or break the skins at very least!
"When herbivores such as ourselves"
Learn how to properly spell "omnivore".
Honestly, they are, I look out for the human race not are supper.
