Look, I know that they go through like 15 years of training in order to become one, and they have egos far greater than dictators, but part of the problem is that they charge too-much for procedures. I think instead of 600k a year, they should be getting more like 200k.
They aren't entrepreneurs.
Not at all. They should be making as much as humanly possible. They save lives. In my opinion, that is the most important job and they deserve as much money as we can give them.
But Jared, doctors being paid that much money is a SYMPTOM of the problem, NOT THE CAUSE.
The main problem is that there aren't enough doctors in the economy. In result, there are a handful of people receiving large amounts of money from the masses (low supply of doctors, high demand of their services). The problem will be solved when more doctors enter the economy, there will be less of an incentive for doctors to enter the economy if their pay is cut from 600k to 200k as you suggest.
Jared, you're ignorant and you stereotype. Take your debates off of a website and try them out in real life. No one wants to hear your low-brow comments on issues you haven't thoroughly researched.

Hey guys, go light on Jared . . . after all he is just a kid going to NYC college. With that misnomer of an educational institution as his background, well . . . In my humble opinion he just is not getting an education at all. =/
About doctors fees – well over 80% of what is paid to a doctor goes to operating overhead like malpractice insurance, employee fees, and medical equipment purchases and maintenance.
Not to mention the repayment of their student loans . . .
Just my not-so-humble opinion. B)
