As long as you have stuff like this going on, then I would have to say no:

Shenanigans.
Wow, just wow. Hard to argue with that.
Good Samaritan laws?
What you mean is that if someone tries to help and fails, then that person should not be held accountable for failing because he/she actually tried to do something good?
If that is what you are asking, then yes that law is good.
The video that Jared shows is nothing but people ignoring someone who is in dire need of assistance even though that person did something incredibly stupid by jaywalking on a very busy street.
So, my question is this; Are you wanting to debate trying to assist someone who is injured vs ignoring that person altogether? Or are you saying that the person in Jared's video should be able to sue anyone and everyone who was around him at the time he tried to jaywalk and got hit by a car and did not prevent him from going out in the road in the first place and did not render aid after he got hit?
The above scenario was played out in a Florida court some years ago when a woman in her 70's drove through a McDonalds drive through and purchased a hot cup of coffee and then dumped said coffee on her lap and sued successfully because the person who sold her that coffee did not tell her it was hot.
The bottom line is this; If a person does something incredibly stupid – like jaywalking on a very busy street – and gets hurt, then I should not be legally obligated to assist that person. However, if I do assist that person and that person either dies or is permanently injured – by my getting him out of the line of traffic – then I should not be held liable because I saved his life.
I hope that makes sense to all of you.
Just my not-so-humble opinion. B)
Idk papadawg, no one should have to go over and help the person, but at least call 911. That's what I don't like.
a group of people are coming home from an office party when they are hit. Three of the people get out of the car but one of the women is trapped, so her co-worker goes back and pulls her out. In the heat of the moment he injures her pulling her out, and after everyone was safe the car exploded, so technically he saved her life…A couple of weeks later she sues him for everything because of the injury, putting him in bankruptcy on the streets. So no. I don't believe the laws work to well.
