The countries that have them certainly think so.
Plus it provides all sorts of excuses for meddling in the affairs of countries that don't.
Until everyone else gets rid of them…..Yes, they are necessary for our protection.
I wonder if in the future various planets will justify mass drivers using the same 'deterrence' logic…
Kind of harder to justify. More likely that somebody would use a demonstration on a dead world the way the scientists wanted to drop the bomb on an uninhabited island.
But I could see that happening too. We're sort of dumb about destructive power.
Exactly. How dare you question the accepted knowledge that those of us with privileges have to mess in other people's business?!
There are other means of protection. Necessary? Probably not. Useful? Perhaps.
I do believe that we do need them to preserve our way of life.
Take it any way you wish, but that is my not-so-humble opinion. B)
Tbh nuclear bombs is a really stupid idea I mean I think no one should have them cuz the after effects never leave all that nuclear waste is still gonna be there in years to come I think everyone should atop making them then we would not need them for protection
