I think that physical will still be allowed as long as the older generation is here, but as time goes on, physical books will slowly become a thing of the past.
I sure hope not. It is extremely hard to curl up on a sofa with your laptop to read a good "who-dunnit!"
FYI – Reading books requires that one engages ones brain in a thought process commonly referred to as the imagination. Television, movies, DVD and flash drive videos cut the imagining process out of the brain's thought tracking process. It has been talked about among the psychology community for decades that children who were addicted to unrestricted television end up having less productive lives than those that were restricted in that realm.
Just my not-so-humble opinion. B)

Star-Trek . . . . . The future is HERE!
Where is the fun in hiding under the covers with a back-lit hand-held Star-Trek reader?
Come on, people, its like the death of the one-armed bandits in the casino's . . . Get on the bandwagon and help save the dime-novel paperbacks!
ARE they? No, they are not right now.
WILL they? Possibly.
Not at the moment. I myself prefer a book, and I can read a physical book much better than something off say my computer screen or even a Kindle.
I think eventually we will go the way of tech like the Kindle/Nook.
My Grandfather was a Clipper Ship Captain in the late 1800's. When they retired his ship he left the sea for good because he just could not fathom giving up what worked best for the least amount of cost.
Now, I read about a new kind of sailing ship that could move cargo across the ocean at the astounding speed of 26 knots.
Grandpa would be delighted!
Just goes to show you that maybe the old ways were indeed the best after all!

Pretty soon, books will jsut be implanted in our brains lol
Students cannot be trusted with technology in schools right now. They draw and write in the text books and tear the pages, plus some of the students would probably steal the technology item and sell it for money for drugs. I think that as long as schools are using books we will keep on using them. Im in High school, i know this stuff!
