Absolutely. It really is disgusting. It’s horrible to hear how news reporters treat drug and murder charges for professional athletes like it is nothing, but if it was an ordinary citizen, it would be a whole big thing and the citizen would go immediately to jail.
I would have to say that the NFL is a prime example of this. Tonight, I was watching ESPN and they were talking about Mike Vick. The guy ran a dog-fighting ring and gets two years in jail, and everyone was making a big thing about him coming back. On the other hand, you have Donte Stallworth who killed someone and got like 30 days in jail.
It really is disgusting to see how if the guy can catch a football or is on with his jump-shot, you can get away with anything, even if it is the law.
Yep, and it goes for celebrities in general.
Of course some celebrities get treated worse than the average joe (Martha Stewart comes to mind)
Some athletes are, and some aren't, just as in anything in life. Jared's example of Mike Vick and Dante Stallworth is now the classic example of this debate topic.

Yes. Ray Lewis…Dante Stallworth.
They aren't treated that much above the law Jared.
The list goes on and on.
