If you want to put something up for free debate you cannot censor anyone just because they do not agree with you!

Definitely, especially because socialism no longer comes right out and says that it's such. It hides behind false labels like 'progressive' and 'kaysian.'
You sure it's not just awaiting approval? And it is their site so yeah they can censor you (not that I'm saying that they should.) Property rights > freedom of speech. Unless of course… your a socialist!

At first I didn't take papdawg's comment seriously, but now my comments haven't shown up 12 hours after I posted them…

I know that it does not take two to three days for a "monitor" to approve anyone's comments . . .
It is my belief that if you open up a website to open debate, such as this one, the only censoring should be done on a civility (clean language, no implied or direct threats) basis. When you ask for someones opinion, then you should be open enough to realize that is just what you will get.
No, I am not a socialist . . . although I am definitely not anti-social either :p
I am an avowed Constitutional Republican. I have found out the hard way that mine is a political belief that has no political party . . . yet. :S

I've been coming to this site for almost 4 months now, and you're always whining about this. Don't you understand that comments are automatically placed in moderation? All the comments of mine that have been placed in moderation have been approved within hours and not days, and I'm sure yours are like that too.
Jared, understand this – I do not whine. I state facts.
You and I have been on this site for about the same length of time, normally my comments are immediately viewable, unless my comments are directly opposite of what the so-called debate is about and then I get this notice that my comments won't be viewed until a moderator has reviewed and approved them – THAT is not moderating, THAT is censorship. So, when that happens I send them another comment and just sit back and chuckle about it because I know that my views 180 degrees out from the liberal views of the rest of those who frequent this site.
I know one of the moderators. He told me that the site gets over 100 spam comments a day, and that 9/10 comments held for moderation are spam. If there's a name and email he recognizes, he'll approve it without even reading it. He told me that all comments made by regular visitors are never deleted or modified, but those visitors that are new will be heavily moderated.
He also told me that moderation occurs not only because of spammers, but because of impulse commenters. These are people who come to this site once and curse people out and provide irrelevant comments to the system.
I consider papadawg and myself regular users. So we do we often have to wait several hours?
