Are the Baby Safe Haven laws effective?

I don't think they are. These people are sick and I don't think it's going to stop them from killing their newborns.
Since we(actually, my wife) knew the lady that got the safe haven law passed in California, I know for a FACT that these laws are saving lives!
I would rather see these laws in place rather than the abortion (which I call the unfettered wholesale slaughter of the unborn) laws.
But then again, that is just my not-so-humble opinion. B)
Hey Jared, since you are in NYC, do you know just when a human being is actually considered a human being?
It is MY belief that human life starts at conception – to me that is when a human being is a human being.
Do you know when the state of New York considers a human being a human being?
"Murder, by any other name, is still murder!"
I agree with papadawg. I think that if these laws actually do help keep mothers from simply murdering their children (whether in utero or after birth), then they are good.
No, it's not by conception. I believe it's somewhere during the pregnancy stage but not when its just one cell.
I think unfettered wholesale slaughter of the unborn was the runner-up but it is just easier saying abortion.

Laws don't actually do anything….they influence what people do. Here's one that wasn't influenced: http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/lo...
Irrational people aren't affected by rational laws.
If you believe that life begins with inception, then why aren't you campaigning for all in-vitro embryos to be carried full term? There are thousands of frozen babies out there, right?
