I believe they are. This is because the best things in life aren't material.
Life isn't free. Freedom isn't free. Health insurance isn't free. And once the Cap & Trade gets implemented even the air we breath will not be free.
Therefore Robert A. Heinlein got it exactly right way back in 1926 when he coined the acronym "TANSTAAFL" as he wrote "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress"
For those who do not know . . . "There Ain't No Such Thing As A Free Lunch". Nothing is free any more.
Just my not-so-humble opinion. B)
Yeah that is true.
Yes*
* Yes is meant as a subjective term here. Certain conditions my apply, price and participation may vary. See additional small text in white font, on a white background, hidden somewhere on this page for more details.
So, time spent with my Grandkids, laughing, talking, just doing nothing, isn't free? Time spent sitting by the Bay, watching the boats, listening to the water and the birds, that's not free either? Time spent walking my dog in the park isn't free? Time spent watching the sun set over the ocean isn't free anymore?
Damn, Papadawg, you're taking away all my free fun!! LOL
So Andrew, you have been having one of Jared's "Paranormal Experiences" have you?
Oy Vay! o.0
No, I was showing how one could not say 'yes' to this question without clarifications and reinvention of the term free. While doing so by mocking the common advertising practice of saying that something is free* Nothing is free. Nothing. Sometimes my ironic humor can be a bit hard to unravel though, and I may have gone a bit too far with this one.
A bit too far? Not at all!
And to be sure, your sense of humor was not lost on me. B)
LOL
On a certain level, I would say "Nothing is free." This is mostly because oftentimes, time is money, and if we spend our time doing something that doesn't earn us money, it costs us. So nothing, in that respect, is "free."
But hugs are nice, laughter is awesome, salvation is beautiful, and none of those things, so far, have cost me a single cent.
love, compassion, hugs and kisses, and salvation all are free and are those not the greatest things in life!
Sun Sets, Lakes, Going to the park, Playing frisbee, Taking a walk on the beach, Playing tag with friends, i would say thats about *add the two, divide the three, carry the one* Oh i would say its a balance of $0.00. Yep im pretty shure its free and dont count the price of gas and what you have to pay to get into the lake because just doing all that stuff and having fun is free. And i love doing all that!
