I don't even know where to start with this one, god..
That's probably a good place to start actually.
The whole Bible is one big error.
Since Humankind is not perfect and really is subject to err from time to time, nothing that Humankind does, says, writes, or even thinks of is ever without errors.
Religion is based on faith . . .
If you really want to know what faith actually is, well then, Google it . . .
I think it is more of a personal spiritual matter, rather than just putting the word "faith" into google.
Since you refused to look it up – which is a problem with most people nowadays – here is the definition for you. the rest YOU have to figure out on your own . . . ;
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Faith is the confident belief or trust in the truth or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing. The word "faith" can refer to a religion itself or to religion in general. As with "trust", faith involves a concept of future events or outcomes, and is used conversely for a belief "not resting on logical proof or material evidence." Informal usage of the word "faith" can be quite broad, and may be used in place of "trust" or "belief."
Faith is often used in a religious context, as in theology, where it almost universally refers to a trusting belief in a transcendent reality, or else in a Supreme Being and/or said being's role in the order of transcendent, spiritual things.
Faith is in general the persuasion of the mind that a certain statement is true. It is the belief and the assent of the mind to the truth of what is declared by another, based on his or her authority and truthfulness.
The English word faith is dated from 1200–50, from the Latin fidem, or fidēs, meaning trust, akin to fīdere, which means to trust.
God this one will open up a can of worms…ya of course theres errors in the bible, simply because man is imperfect. Anything past through millions of hands for countless years will ultimately be altered and "fixed" to fit someone elses needs, but the fact remains the Christian bible still holds many principles and values that should be held by all to live a better life.
Yea. I can't believe some people actual memorize that entire Bible.
Do you remember your credit card numbers? It's not that difficult to memorize a number of consecutive passages in a book by comparison.
memorization is the hard part haha, its the practice that gets you.
Yea. The Bible is only a thousand pages long. I remember when I went to high school, they made us read some passages every single night. Hated it. Will never do it again.
I believe that the Bible is about as "accurate" as mankind is capable of making it.
The Jewish copyists knew exactly how many letters were in every line of every book and how many times each word occurred in each book. This enabled them to check for errors. The Jews believed that adding any mistake to the Scriptures would be punishable by Hell.
Also, there are over 5,000 Greek New Testament manuscripts in existence. This is by far more than any other historical documents, which usually have maybe a dozen copies from very late dates.
However, whether or not you believe the stories and content of the Bible actually happened is entirely up to your faith.
Christians believe that the Bible is the word of God and that it was written by God through men, so, according to those who actually READ the Bible, there are no errors. Any errors that others claim exist are in the interpretation, since most people will take it how they want to and not necessarily how it is meant.
Also, have any of you heard about the Dead Sea Scrolls? They were discovered in the mid 1900's in caves and are basically the closest to the original Old Testament texts as we will ever get. When compared to the Old Testament that we have today they were almost completely identical.
Here is a link (I know ya'll seem to like wikipedia) if you want to read for yourself. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Sea_scrolls.
I hated being forced to read the Bible…now I do it on my own.
