I believe they did. Life was much harder back then. We have it so lucky. They had to go through a lot. Most people are spoiled these days, but I guess that's the price they had to pay for us to live comfortably now.

Yea, but what about those 2012 prophecies with the Mayans?
What about them? Very few prophecies come true.
Well they say that the Mayans were very spiritual people, more spiritual than we will ever be. This goes for the Indians as well, especially with paranormal activity and stuff. This is why they say Indian burial grounds are the most haunted and harmful.
Without a doubt, the writers and framers of our Constitution are smarter than politicians now. The Mayans were geniuses also, and they mastered the calendar. The Mayans aren't the only ones to predict the end of the world in 2012 also. Check this video out:

The Mayans were not so intelligent, Jared. Their calendar runs out in 2012, our form of keeping track of time is infinite.
Since the rambling taoist does not believe in spirituality, lets leave that sort of thing out of it and just concentrate on intelligence.
The writers and framers of our Constitution, I believe, were much more intelligent than our currant batch of politicians that are now gathered in D.C., so in that light I would have to say yes our ancestors had better intuition than we do now.

Jared, the Mayans did NOT predict the end of the world – that is just a MYTH!
They were NOT intelligent enough to figure out a system of tracking the passage of time indefinately like our currant calender system.
The world will NOT end on Dec. 12, 2012 (12-12-12 aka the perfect 36).
Modern Mayans are there to prove it.
Our anceistors did not have technology to work for them. They didnt have game systems and computers and TV to distract them from nature and the real world. They were very smart, just think of the egyptians and how they built the pyramids. Im sure they used some kind of wood from around the world, i bet they used Bamboo! And for the rope? Hmmm=/
