Yes I believe it does. This is because these corporations help the citizens and the government of other countries start to appreciate and love America's culture.
We've never fought with a country that has McDonalds in it.
*sigh* Businesses are in business to make money – Businesses are not formed to "keep the peace" between countries. Case in point; Prior to WW2 the United States sold scrap metal and crude oil to Japan, Germany and Italy among many other nations. We also purchased raw latex (rubber) from south western Asian and South American countries. Those business ventures did not prevent WW2 from happening.
Having pointed out the facts of life, above here, I will also say that doing business with the OPEC countries of the Middle East is the single most causative factor for the wars that we are now engaged in in that part of this planet.
