Yea. There has to be a limit though, otherwise, if you over-punish them, they will be deprived too much of social activity, or they will try to rebel and be a bad kid on purpose just to get back at the parents.
Curfews are jokes to me. I can get in just as much trouble home as I can get in public.

If the parents aren’t involved enough to make sure their children are not being a burden on society really a curfew won’t do much to help.
Also it appears to be a bit of a redundant law. I mean if the only violation is that of the curfew, what’s the issue? Would it really bother anybody to see a 15 year old walk down to the local 7-Eleven, buy a soda and a hotdog, eat it on a bench, then go home, no matter what the hour?
No, curfews are placed for teens breaking the law, and police looking to spearhead the issue with further laws.
I’m not the type of guy who likes giving more power to the state than needed.
The kids are loud, breaking laws, or engaging in illegal acts, then there’s more than enough justification to take them home, or dump them in a holding cell without a curfew, and likely the parent at home doesn’t care one way or another, as the parent who WOULD care actually takes steps to verify their children are in a safe place at night.
The other thing is that when you say it is the parents fault some of time it isn’t like kids sneak out all the time how is it there fault then and the kids could be staying the night at someones house and sneak out so its not the parents fault all the time.
Curfews are dumb. There is not point to be punishing kids that are doing nothing wrong. For the kids that are doing wrong they can do that at ANYTIME in the day. Sex, Alcohol and Drugs can be done and used in the afternoon as well as 1 a.m. Curfews are just not needed.

That's true. But not all everybody needs a curfew, because some teens can behave.
I think curfews don't keep teens out of trouble special in my city we have a law of curfew which is my idea of dumb as long as your parents know where you are i think it should be ok to be out that late. But teens will be teens and if they want to be out at a certain time they will find anyway to do that and that means sneaking out. Sneaking out can cause more problems than just letting the kids be kids.

I agree with you Jay. My mom told me that as long as she knows where i am i can go anywhere, any time. I get in trouble when I don't tell my mom if i go somewhere else and she scomes looking for me.
Why does everyone think that you have to have curfews. YOU DON’T! Sure, Chase and Jay are right. Jjust tell your parents. It’s not like you’re going to some strip club and telling your parents. Just don’t!

curfews do not keep teens out of trouble cause they will do it anyway during the day in the morning and at night in there rooms they can do whatever they want to whenever they want. thats wht i think i agree with unknown SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Curfews are pointless. A teenager wil do what they want even if the parent says no
