I think they very much do. All bad deeds never go unpunished.
If one believes in an afterlife, which unfortunately I do not. It's what we leave behind that is our mortality. So in that regard, yes, our actions now affect us in the afterlife.
Where do you think we go when we die?
The soil.
Yea? And what about your soul, which is making your heart beat right now? You think that stays in the ground as well?
The medulla, located at the bottom of the brain stem, makes the human heart beat.
And there is no such thing as soul as it is an abstract idea.
You can believe that, if you're a doctor. Strange paranormal occurrences like exorcisms and even ghost encounters don't have invisible medullas going around.
That's the problem with atheists. They haven't experienced crap in life and choose not to do or experience anything different so they just think there is no God.
I choose to believe that we are not here on this planet as some random occurrence but that some greater being conceived of and created us in his image. That being said, yes, I do believe that there is an afterlife and certainly there will be consequences for our actions while we are here. Now if you choose to believe otherwise I can't imagine what purpose your life would have! I know mine has purpose!
