No its such a waste of time for everyone. Everyone is a hypocrite. Millions of Americans pay more attention to this than our politics.
I find parts of them fun to watch.
Well that isn't the Olympics fault, per se, but the people's fault for being so incredibly dumb.
Same thing is true of American Idol, or Jersey Shore, or any of a dozen other things. I certainly pay more attention to sports than politics. It doesn't seem to bother my ability to come up with facts and opinions. Based on what I can tell of the people who do "pay more attention" to politics, most of them probably shouldn't. They're not actually paying attention anyway. Just making stuff up within their partisan echo circles of ideas.
Hockey games are pretty good. Summer is better. Winter is generally a bunch of lame Northern European sports.
I agree with Sal. They are a waste of time and money.
I disagree with all of you.
Olympic athletes are who our children should try to emulate, rather than some drugged out stupid "rock star".
I do find the Olympics to be very entertaining.
Just my not-so-humble opinion. B)
I enjoy winter sports better- figure skating is awesome. ^.^ Of course…that's also like the only thing I watch of the Olympics.

Heh. That and steroids and drugs period…not exactly the best role models.
Meh. The list of stoned elite athletes is probably just as long as the list of any other group of people stoned in their 20s. There's also the NFL offensive rookie of the year and the NL Cy young award winner from last year for example. I don't see how this should bother people.
