Yes, boredom can lead to trouble that in some aspects of teenagers where security and sense of belonging is a factor into what teens seek for. In particular troubles that teens can be associated to are the fact that they smoke, they do drugs and go to people they are not accustomed with are just some troubles they could get into. They seek for company and they seek for someone to be with them when they're alone so that's how it can turn things table upside-down.
