Yes, too much violence in the lyrics.
All you have to do is look at the kids who listen to rap music. The majority of them walk around acting like that scum and start talking like them.
If your a teenage boy trying to figure out who the s**ts are, I'll give you a hint. White girls who sing along with rap songs (in a non-ironic way.) Of course, this is just from my own personal experience when I was younger.
No I hear you with that too.
I could never make any sense of rap until I read the lyrics to "cop killer" . . . Made me feel like that badge I wore was nothing but a bulls-eye.
Just my not-so-humble opinion.
violence isnt the only problem. Soulja boy, a very prominent rapper now, is in fact a moron… rhyming things like black berry with halle berry. the lyrics are going as far as ruining our beautiful language and soon were going to have a generation of illiterate ill spoken adults.
I love it when musicians and rappers are so limited in their intellect that they must rhyme the same two words together! I can't stop trash talking them to all my friends…… you CAN'T rhyme Berry with Berry; Mr. Boy. You see Berry is the same word as Berry, ans therefore being the same word,…. isn't a rhyme…. It's like rhyming "time" with "sometime" which some ridiculous songster recently vomited up on the radio…. it's not a rhyme, it's the same damn word!!
Furthermore, and slightly off topic, 90% of music and 99% of movies coming out now are trashed out refurbs of classic stuff with meaning…. oh, except "Land of the Lost" come on,… It was literally the worst TV show EVER!!!
rap is good, not all of it is bad and not all of us are dumb enough to get sucked into some of the stupid things it says. sure, some of things are innapropriate but some of it has good meaning that the youth hears. and the beat is always nice to ‘rock to’ (; but yeeea, dont hate. :L
Thats not a vaild argument.
I agree with you Jordan. It's your decision to act like and do what all the rappers say. If you learn to just listin to the beats and listin to some of the songs that have real meanings than you'll be ok. But as Jordan said, there are some rap songs that have good meaning and the Youth is able to hear that, so don't hate on rap when not all of it is bad
