I really don't think so. It's all just for show I believe.
Don't know much about international relationships, do you?
It is the information gathering abilities of the intelligence community that has kept this country informed about the actual intention and capabilities of possible enemies, however it is what our politicians actually do with this information that keeps us safe.
Having said that, I must also say that the currant batch of politicians in D.C. cause me great concern for our safety as a nation.
9/11 was on George Bush's watch wasn't it? I"m only asking because Bush comes off as some hero when the attack on this country happened while he was President. So, how safe did he keep us?
Keeping us informed and keeping us safe are entirely two different things.
What specifically does this crop do that is distinct from the last 8 years? Or do you have the same trepidations about Bush/Cheney era policies and safety?
Because for the most part, all that's happened is doubling down on those policies. Drone strikes are up. Rendition still exists. Extra-legal killings of American citizens is on the table. Gitmo is still open. And so on.
So aside from the label on the door, I don't see what would have changed to get you in a fuss. Either you didn't like the Bush era version of "safety" or you haven't been paying attention.
Okay, then according to you two blithering idiots GWB is responsible for everything bad that happens or ever will happen to this country . . . Wow, what a pair of brainwashed Obamatrons!!!!!!!!!!!!
FYI – Clinton IGNORED the warning signs because he was too interested in showing Monica Lewinsky what a Havana cigar could do!
I am tired of all of you blithering idiots blaming GWB for everything from soup to nuts. Get your collective heads out of your butts and look at the situation as it really is. When I say the currant batch of politicians I do not mean just the POTUS, that statement includes the House and Senate AND the Supreme Court along with the POTUS. If the House and Senate override the POTUS and Supreme Court then their policies are null and void. However this House and Senate have done nothing but rubber stamp the communist policies of this POTUS and his Marxist CZARS. And don't tell me he is not a Marxist/communist, his actions speak volumes about where his political heart really is.
Sun Tzu's point was that policies haven't really changed from Bush's reign to this one. I agree.
Don't even get me started on the glorified ineptness that has been the CIA's track record…although, they aren't as bad as the NSA. Yeah.
No… the point is that the things haven't changed. I blame Obama for not changing them or making a point to try to change them. In fact he's done the opposite and increased the problem.
If complaining about Obama NOT doing something makes me an "Obamatron", I'm afraid I'm going to have to, as usual, question your ability to reason.
And as far as Congress.. .two points.
1) They've rubber stamped stuff for decades, particularly on foreign policy. Goes back at least to Vietnam. And given that they're in the same party, I'd hardly say they're likely to overturn the President anyway, the same was true of the Bush years with Republican control. That did not go over so well for us domestically either on this front of Marxist/socialist control that you're so worried about.
2) Republicans in office over the last 8 years rubber stamped a lot of the stuff that people complain about now as though it's Obama's fault. Medicare expansion, NCLB, civil liberties repressions like the Patriot Act, and even TARP. I'd hardly say the problem began with Obama and these marxist czars, nor with Bush even. It goes back for decades in most cases.
Don't know much about intel gathering, do you?
