A lot worse. Advances in technology and the transformation of the education system really spoils kids.
People like to think so, but I wonder.
I mean that Jazz music people complained lead to deviancy and drug use is now being played for kids in art appreciation class.
I think personal arrogance leads people to think they somehow live in special times.
worse
WORSE, BY FAR.
Worse because the drug use has increased so much and now young people are running away from home, drinking and smoking. We should have kept the old rules but as time changes, so does technology and the way people look at things.
Drug use has (generally) come down since its high points in the 80s. Same with young people and criminal statistics. Fewer kids die from accidents now. Kids can also use technology in some surprisingly useful ways. I'd argue that kids can more easily capitalize on their potential in the modern world (at least if they grow up with access to the modern world).
We could say that yes more kids are dropping out of school but in many periods in the recent past not very many kids were even going past elementary school, certainly not into advanced college degree programs.
We compare rap music a lot as some sort of deviant devil music. But rock and roll started out that way. So did jazz. If you go back far enough, Mozart was complained about because he sold his operas and symphonies by appealing to the public (the "children" of aristocratic Europe) rather than the elites. It's not a new story. Every generation likes to pretend they were better as children. They weren't. It's just the slight variations in morals and traditions that gets people's noses tweaked uncomfortably.
Yea they definitely are worse these days. Just look at Miley Cyrus and all of these other teen celebrities.
That's not necessarily true. Just because you didn't hear about the deviant behavior of child celebrities in the past doesn't necessarily mean it didn't exist. Journalism and the media have made the world of celebrity today much different from that of before.
Yea, because sex is beginning to sell even more these days, and kids are getting more out of control.
I don't believe they are growing worse. I personally think that as generations age, they mature and look down on the youngest generation. Parents have always tended to look down upon changes that separate their behavior and their child's. Drug use was always there just as running from home was. Look at the 60s where the younger generation had the counter culture! We may be bad, but there has almost never been a time in history where the adolescents and teens of society didn't get a bad rap. And the worst part is that some of us aren't even unruly! Some elder people won't give us a chance when they see our age. They simply assume that we are going to be rude. This disrespect causes us to hold resentment for them as well. Because of this tension, we just tend to act mean around them because they act rude to us. It's like a vicious circle of frustration that never ends, and if we'd only once tried to get to know each other as people instead of a generation, maybe we'd discover we weren't as different as once thought.
ha, no question child behaviour has skyrocketed, the numbers of pregnant teens, kids in juve, and high school droputs, have absolutely exploded since the 60′s.
children behave worse now, because there are not as many rules and parents are not as strict as they used to be. Kids think they can do whatever they want and be lazy when they can't.
agreed
Overall child behavior may not be "worse" but I've noticed a distinct lack of respect for older people and people in authority as a teacher over the years.
Yeah, but what if you think a generation has gotten worse, behavior-wise, and you are a part of that generation? I agree that older generations have a tendency to jump to conclusions when it comes to youth, but when someone within the same age group is repulsed by behavior then maybe there is a problem to be considered.
Yes, child behavior has dramatically gotten worse. Anytime you take God out of the equation (such as in schools), you can go no where but down. Plus, the parents today aren't near as what they were back when. They think spanking is bad and punishing their children is too harsh but what they don't realize is that it is punishing them in the long run… just an Opinion
i thought you liked technology.
Honestly kids got so much worse. but it all starts with the parents, so no one can blame the kids for the things they do and say these days. we have kids raising kids and they can not control their kids becuase their kids do exactly what they do. parents are drinking and smoking ILLEGAL drugs in the same roon with these babies like its no problem, but back when i was younger, i had to be in my room and out of grown folks business. noe parents dont care what they kids do
but thats my opinion
yea, agreed wd jared.. !!
Personally, in my opinion, the behavior of children have gotten worse. To adults, peers, and any one else. Also not all kids have horrible behavior, some kids are still respectfull, but no matter what you CAN NOT judge a kid bby how old they are. Like me, I'm a teenager and hang out with a girl with peircings and blue hair, and neaarly every teacher in our school say we are druggies, bad, and stupid, but neither one of us have ever done a drug in our life, and our grades are strait A's. Also yesterday I tried to open a door for an older man but the door wouldn't open because it was broken and it had a sign on it that said please use other door. i did not see the sign and the old man acted like i was a stupid teenager and left but i still held the other door for him. But overall children have become rude and disrespectful, not just because of technology or music, but also talk shows that tell parents that "spanking" is bad and not a correct punishment, so they have bad behavior for lack of punishment also.
I agree, child behavior has changed for the worst. I am in middle school and I have personally witnessed the bad words and horrible behavior.
Me too..child behaivour has become worse.Technology has changed children alott. Also most of both the parents have started doing jobs due to which they are unable to give their children the time they need..Just an opinion=p
This is true, but if you think about it Miley Cyrus has never really had the type of parents to teach her otherwise.
i dont think that child’s behavior is getting worse day by day they itself understand how to deal wid problems and ofcorse A CHANGE IS BETTER THAN HAVING A SAME THING REGULARLY thads ma opinion……..!!
yeahhhhhhhhhhh i also think so an its very much trueeeeee!!
yeahhhhhhhhhhh i also think so an its very much trueeeeee!!

child behaviour has certainly not improved its actually getting worse, because children have access to the internet and they try to experiment
