I think total communism is a failure, but every country needs a little bit of socialism in order to keep everything in place.

I think communism works but the premise behind it is inhumane.

So in other words it just works for the dictator? How do you mean it works? How does it work at all if it is inhumane to the people?
Liberty said on Nov/10/2009
It is good in theory. The theory is wonderful- everyone working together for the good of everyone else. In a lot of ways, we do that anyway- we have to, if want to survive. But it works poorly in actual practice. This is because people become corrupted by power. They cannot stand up beneath it. So, it fails. So, up to a point, it is effective.

Duh!
What form of insanity would make you really WANT to be the subject of a dictatorship?
I was born free, I have lived free, and if anyone tries to take my freedom from me they will learn very quickly just how much I value this free nation!
Got it? :@

Businesses need some regulation.

Communism is not, I believe, intended to be a dictatorship as originally conceived. It is supposed to be one massive co-op.
But, as we know, people are corrupt. They cannot be content with just a little bit of power, or justh aving shared power. That is where communism goes wrong.

That's what the market is. If people don't like something a business is doing, they are supposed to wake up and make sacrifices. Unfortunately, they don't. That's why we're in the mess we're in.
Communism requires perfection out of the dictator. We all know that there’s no way that a human could be perfect (complete power=complete corruption), thus proving communism is hopeless.

I have to say that you are correct to some point Sal, but that's why you need a little bit of both in a system. Communism will be completely inhumane and being a pure competitive society will be too humane. You don't want to live in a perfectly communist or competitive society. You need both.

Yea but you can't live in a dog-eat-dog world. Things don't work like that. You need to have a mix of both, which is why China is the sh*t.

You really summed it up for all of us. Thank you very, very much. No research whatsoever on that statement.
I am not talking about a dog-eat-dog world. I'm talking about a world where people take personal responsibility for their business decisions and don't rely on the government for everything.

I agree with the second part.

Who are you talking to?
People are naturally selfish. How can one expect people to make unselfish sacrifices?
