Never had linux, but have heard it does the job.
I use Ubuntu Linux and it is 100x better. You don't need any software at all.
Depends on what you're doing. But since DirectX and .net emulation have made their way to linux, and user friendly distributions like Ubuntu have come out, Linux has become viable for the casual user. But MORE useful? Certainly not.
A lot faster.
Ubuntu is much more useful and much less intrusive than anything that Microsoft has ever, or will ever put out. Vista was the worst O/S I ever had and that irritating thing that popped up every whipstitch that asked if that is what I really wanted to do just plain sucked!
Just my not-so-humble opinion. B)
Linux without a doubt. Any system that gives you, the user, the control is more useful. Whether or not users want the power or even know what to do with it is another question.
