No but really. It's one of the routes. Careful methodical planning being another. And passion does not always result in success, so I guess i'm gonna have to say no.
I would say hard work and perseverance.
But then again, it all depends on what you are trying to be a success at.
Passion is the fuel for success. Skills are required to guide all efforts in the right direction and regulate the fuel and drive. Too little passion and efforts will fizzle out, too much badly directed passion and things go all wrong.
