Propaganda, also known as mud-slinging, in my opinion, is wrong, morally, economically and otherwise. our politicians need to stop trying to de-moralize each other and concentrate on their own ideas of how they believe they can do better without attacking the other. So, instead of saying "My oponant is guilty of this or that," they should speak of one anothers' good point in their debates and further it by saying," Buth i have other suggestions on how to handle the situation." All propaganda does is give politions control on how we should hate the opposing candidate. Letr each candidate do that for themselves.

I definitely agree that so many government run institutions have failed, but I still can't seem to understand what that has to do with propaganda... propaganda is just someone elses views of how they see a situation or what they deem right, and in that way, right or wrong, you wont be able to get rid of it. Propaganda runs strong in our country as well. It's known as political parties.

I understand, but we shouldn't punish the doctors and the lawyers, who save our lives and protect us. We should punish the ones who are trying to get away without paying the bill.

Joe, with any system doctors HAVE to buy malpractice insurance - and so do insurance companies - because our civil legal system is what is out of control, not insurance companies or doctors.

Don't believe me? How many commercials have you seen lately that are generated by law firms advocating for lawsuits against everything from soup to nuts? They are all over the tube, and last week when I took my wife out to see a movie they even had one before the movie started!

Think about it. If we had a REAL tort reform law that demanded that judges dismiss any and all frivolous lawsuits (ambulance chaser types, etc.), and limit the amount for redress (how much you could sue for), so the medical profession would not have to buy such expensive insurance against malpractice suits, just how much the cost of health care and health insurance would come down.

We (for now) live in a free market society, and that means EVERYTHING is consumer driven - WE are the consumers - and that means that we consumers have the ability to control the cost of literally everything. All we have to do is get behind or against a product or service and we can either make or break that product or service.

Case in point (as an example only) - Barbie Dolls and the original Star Trek TV series. When it was first introduced, the now famous Barbie Doll was predicted to fail within one year. I remember reading the newspaper article when I was a kid. I had two sisters, one older and one younger, and let me tell you that they bugged my Mom until they both got their own individual Barbie Doll. The rest is history. Star Trek the original TV series was canceled after its third season for no other reason than advertisers were embarrassed to have their ads associated with such a dorky TV show. Yep, that's right! Now, each and every year a convention is held in Las Vegas that draws MILLIONS of fans. It is the Star Trek convention. It is more popular than any other science fiction genre, including Star Wars.

These phenomenons were both CONSUMER GENERATED SUCCESS STORIES. and on the other end, I giive you the Delorian and the Edsel, both Consumer generated mega-flops.

We the consumer are the single most powerful group on this planet.

Get my drift?

Right. But Obama has himself more or less supported the Baucus bill and that hybrid insurance system is probably dead on arrival. The reason is not Republican obstruction or insurance company opposition through Republicans. It's people like Baucus. So whatever it is you think is being accomplished, the insurance companies might be against, but that's not what is actually being accomplished. Not even close.

Ergo, they are not secretly funding some sort of propaganda misinformation campaign that the Republicans have undertaken for cynical political reasons on their own.
