Yes. It doesn't happen all too often.
"Life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement." The problem with the American dream is that people are intent on destroying it in the name of equality regardless of ability or achievement.
It is not overrated . . . I am living it.
I am free. I go wherever I want, whenever I want.
I am not rich or even wealthy, and I never wanted to be because all the rich and overly wealthy people I have ever met have been miserable in fear that someone will take all their money away from them or just trying to "keep up with the Jones".
I own my home, SUV, Pickup truck, 36ft fifth wheel trailer, 22ft ocean going trailerable boat, and all of this is completely paid for.
I am in my late 60's and I worked all my adult life for what I have. My children are successful and my grandchildren are becoming successful. My wife of 40+ years still loves me.
I served my country and somehow managed to make it through a war reasonably intact.
It just doesn't get any better than this . . . . . Now if that ain't living the "American Dream" I don't know what would be.
