College is a necessity in today’s workforce. We are seeing a rise in the number of students at universities around the world. However, this is not the topic at question. The debate is whether or not universities are too expensive.
Is the cost of college too high?

I don't think it is. Hey, if you can't handle the cost of tuition for your college, don't go to that one. Who's stopping you?
It is very expensive and is getting way out of hand, however what can we do about that? Nothing. This is what the world is coming to now.
Question of more importance: what is causing the skyrocketing rate of increase? It's going up faster much than health care costs, which one could assume are included in the cost since colleges tend to cover their faculty and students with excellent health care benefits.
It is not high for you but it is for someone else and you have to respect that.
look i am a college student right now and when i get out of college i am gonna owe hundreds of thousands of dollars just to sit in a few classrooms and learn things. IT IS LIKE HIGH SCHOOL PEOPLE you go into class you get out a book.. WHICH LET ME ADD YOU HAD TO PAY ALMOST 100 DOLLARS FOR..and you dont even use the book instead the teacher reads off a powerpoint and you fill in the blanks on your notes..now tell me why im paying 30000 a yr for this? thank you have a nice day
you have to take into consideration that maybe not everyone has money like you do not everyone can afford thousands of dollars every year, and we are only holding back these kids' potentials and we will never see what they could have become b/c hey we want to make them not go to college. YOU are the ones stopping them. think about it
you can do something..nothing is impossible especially with god on your side..how bout a letter to the government. a petition? ya things can be done but this world is to conceided and lazy to do anything about it
What can the government do about it?
Education prices are skyrocketing and the reason for that has nothing to do with education. It is inflation. Since the Federal Reserve has dramatically increased the supply of money throughout the past 5 decades, the value of the money decreased, therefore increasing prices. The textbooks, supplies, food, housing, cost of living for the teachers has all gone up in price.
There is only one way to stop costs from continuing to increase: stop the hyperinflationary policies!
I am a College student right now as well, and I am going to owe tens of thousands of dollars for the same thing. The thousands of dollars I spent on books was a waste. We barely touch them. As for someone saying that there is something we can do about it; I do not believe that at all. Nobody cares about anything any more except lining their pockets with someone else's hard earned money. You can rally and petition and pray and write to the government for the rest of eternity and it won't get you any where. Look around, greed is the life blood of this whole world, including the government.
The cost of education is bloody ridiculous the cost is way too high especially if the teachers do not care if you learn or not.
