I believe so. We are harming it and not even realizing it. Global warming is going to kill us!
In some sense yes. but the question almost seems to imply that we anthropomorphize nature. Are habitats being destroyed? Yes. Is some weeping goddess named Gaia being raped? No.
Well….what kind of danger?
The danger it's always been in as in 'the animals are going to breathe up all the oxygen' or the danger caused by pollutants we pump into the air?
If the latter, well- I think it would be wise to keep icky byproducts out of rivers. That's just common sense. But the environment is pretty big. And its taken a pretty big beating over the years. I think it'll survive.
Absolutely not, the environment and the planet are in no danger whatsoever. Even if we harm the planet to the point where human life is no longer sustainable, the worst that will happen to the Earth is that humans become extinct. 200 years after we've been wiped off this rock there won't be a single visible testament to our passing. The buildings would have crumbled, the highways would have been reclaimed by grassland. The ozone hole will close, the temperature will regulate and the ice caps would refreeze.
Nothin short of us detonating every nuclear device we have will damage this environment to the point where it cannot recover once we're gone.
Sounds like that Will Smith movie.
weeping goddess named Gaia? Who is that?
Pollution is the entire problem…
The sky is falling, the sky is falling, run for your lives, we're all gonna DIE!!!!
PLEASE!?! Would you just understand one thing? It has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that Al Gore LIED through his eyeteeth!
The hacker letters proved that. JUST LAST WEEK!
Once upon a time giant dinosaurs roamed over the entire Earth. They ate green stuff, they ate each other, and they belched HUGE belches and even when they had no fingers to pull they farted HUGE farts, and the earth still survived.
Get my drift?
Juat my not-so-humble opinion. B)
I was making a jab at a childhood propaganda show called "Captain Planet."
He's our Hero!
haha – the environment….ohhh what a load of CRAP!! Knew about this (as did THEY) little scheme for about 3 years now, people are finally starting to listen….a few HACKED emails…..wow thats all it takes? better suit up my PC!
What on Earth are you talking about?
Have you taken a look outside papadawg? Do you not see the rapid weather changes.
Ermanarich, what hacked e-mails are you talking about, it seems great, but I remain skeptical.
Hello Jared, I think that the earth will be around LONG after we are wiped clean off the map. Any damage the earth undergoes because of us, it will heal itself, just as it has for billions of years.
But ever since Al Gore came out with that horrible movie scaring the pants off of 5-8 year old kids who couldn’t even sleep at night because "they were killing mother earth, they were responsible", that is the load of crap part for me. Gore knew from the beginning it was a joke.
I’m not saying one can start littering or polluting all of a sudden, just saying if we are arrogant enough to think We can have an impact on this magnanimous planet – HA. Let me say, even if all the nuclear weapons went off at the same time, we would not exist, but mother earth would eventually heal herself.
Yes there were some emails hackers got a hold of. The emails were from scientists who worked on the global warming numbers, a lot of the emails prove that the scientist were pressuring others and each other to make the whole global warming thing look way over the top, like they did, and had back monetary deals going on with politicians.
I think if you do a google and a little online research you should be able to come up with a lot of information about it. I don’t really pay a lot of attention to the political environmental stuff. I think some mainstream networks broadcasted on it.
There have always been rapid weather changes. The weather changes. Sorry to break it to you. I mean, it would get pretty monotonous if it stayed the same way all the time.
As humans, we have to acknowledge that there are certain things we cannot control, the weather being one of them.
I dont think enough attention is given to the environment, but its getting there. Did you know theres biodegradable plastic now? Its made from vegitables!
