Partly. President Obama is just trying to cover himself by blaming it on BP only but there should've been more regulations in place.
The biggest part of the story is Obama failing to respond aggressively as he should have.
The government should have absolutely nothing to do with this since literally everything the government tries to control turns into one big pile of excrement!
This government was offered assistance from other countries who had the equipment and personnel with the expertise to handle this thing, but our "Messiah Hisself" turned them down, and now the excrement pile is growing exponentially!
I think their lack of oversight definitely played a major role in the problem. The EPA could have done a much better job. But at least someone's benefiting from the spill: http://evening-times.blogspot.com/search/label/Oi…
One could say that government had a hand in removing the incentive for companies to be safer by placing a cap on the liabilities of drilling companies, but that of course begs the questions, would companies like BP be careful even if were in their best interest long term?
