Yes it is. How is it different from a casino?
It isn't different!
I've got $20 that says that most people here will vote yes.
What do you say Andrew?
no………..it isnt.
and ill take cash please:p
Also, gambling is legal in this country. In a casino, in the stock market, at race tracks, provided you are over 21 it's perfectly legal to gamble your money.
Oy Vay!
So, how do YOU want to save up for retirement? Let the government decide? Or invest your money in safe and slow growth stocks? Or maybe bury it in the backyard under the parsimonious tree?
Juat asking . . . :p B)
Thank you for sharing us a statement with no thoughts on why it isn't whatsoever.
Yea, but not sports right?
there are certain trends in the stockmarket. If you have no idea about these trends, then yes, it might as well be gambling, but if you can discern between a bull market and a bear market, then you will have an advantage over those who have no clue.
Shares are just parts of companies. if you own a share, then you own part of that particular company. if the company's value goes up, then the amount of money you are entitled to when you sell it to another trader goes up. it is far easier to predict the rise and fall of companies that are on the wrong or right track, than to predict the roll of dice.
in grade two, i still begrudge my mother for not listening to me when i warned her to sell her petrolium fuel shares, in which case we would have gained $500. she didn't get out fast enough, and so we only ended up with $100. i knew it was going to become a bear market when the news said "we're on a short fuel supply".
if you know what your doing, it isn't gambling.
