I think they are, but I think there should be more of them to diversify, because I know when Bush was around, more than half were agreeing with him. I don't like how the President can appoint them either.
Here's the deal – Take away the presidential appointment system for the U.S. Supreme Court. Make any Justice who wants to serve on that court run for office on his/her own volition. Elect a new Justice each year, make the chief justice a lame dog (His/her last year in office) and make it illegal for any judge to adhere to or belong to a political party.
That is not a perfect solution to the problem, but it sure gets close.
Just my not-so-humble opinion. B)
No, I just want them to make the right choices.
So now that the great Obummer is in office you want them all to agree with him!?! o.0
Ya just can't drink the kool-aide and have yer poison too . . .
The whole point of the life-tenure is so that they won't be corrupt. Politicians do the evil acts when they know they have to be re-elected. If they are appointed and told they are going to be there for the rest of their life, then they aren't going to let the money and stuff fool them.
Without a doubt. The Supreme Court has drastically changed the society in which we live on multiple cases.
