Is there some truth to astrology?

I don't believe in the daily reading and stuff, but I mildly believe in the personality descriptions and the compatibility aspects of it.
Yea, there is some truth to it.
To answer the question posed here . . .
In my personal opinion; Absolutely not!
There is nothing but a con-artists game in astrology, just like those who claim to speak with the dead, communicate with ghosts, and have been abducted by space aliens who sneak around Earth and use us Humans as lab rats.
Get my drift?
Its all real man! There have been so many accurate sayings I can't even say.
Its not con-artists, you just haven't had a real experience with it that's all.
Oh really Sal? Go on! Say!
You are just saying that because you don't believe in the daily astrology readings. I don't believe in that. If you take a look at the personality analysis of each sign, you will be astounded.

I am not "astounded". But then, I'm aware that all of those read exactly the same.
They are all vague advertisements, much like criminal profiling or Rorschach tests, where we can fill them with our subjective evaluations of their worth rather than evaluating their actual rate of error and success as a predictive or insightful model (which is generally terrible).

Check that out instead.
I doubt you read all of them, but the personality descriptions are pretty accurate. The daily horoscopes are crap.
No they aren't. They are a forer effect of subjective confirmation biases. They're deliberately vague constructions that can apply to many, many people because of non-specific attributes or attributes which are near universal. Try picking one out from another blindly and saying "this is x sign, and that one is y sign".
It cannot be done.
I've actually guessed what signs people were before even asking them, and I'm almost always correct. I know what you're talking about though, when it comes to psychics and stuff. I don't believe in all the psychics, tarot card readings, and the daily horoscopes, but when it comes to personality analysis and sign compatibilities, there is something that is not explainable.
There is no scientific explanation to it yes. But that's because there is no scientific reliability, no observable, predictable pattern on which it relies. It is entirely random noise.
Science isn't everything. 200 years ago, people put their trust in doctors just like we do today. Back then, they would literally drill a hole into your back to let blood out, that's what they believed in. Who's to say that when we are long gone that our descendants won't laugh at us for the science we have now?
200 years ago doctors were not using scientific understandings of anatomy or biology to deal with disease. In fact, they usually didn't even understand "disease".
Science is generally about repeatable and observable data that generates skeptical and testable experiments. Astrology by contrast is about rhetorical bullshit.
I'm sure 200 years from now they will be laughing at us for our research so far.
I don't believe that. Astrology has been passed down for hundreds of years. Nostradamus had a big impact on it.
This statement from someone who doesn't do in-depth research?
For some unknown reason I expected better . . . sigh . . .
Wow . . . did I miss something here? The sign for Cancer seems to be almost X-rated.
Hey, not to sound like an old fart – which I am – but I just do not see how a bunch of abstract drawings allows life to exist and flourish?
The key term there was "believe". When you understand what that term means, and why it thus makes "astrology" an amusement with no meaning, let us know.
Science doesn't prove anything. Nothing is for certain in this life.
lol X-rated? Cancer is the best sign out of all of them.
It's not meant to be taken literally, but they it's just the way the stars are positioned and they say it looks like a crab or whatever it is supposed to be.
Science is empirical rationalism. It proves things so long as you aren't in the category of a philosophy that requires that last .01% of doubt to be removed. Astrology, if this is something you are holding up as some sort of "alternative" to scientific observation, does not even come close.
There is some truth to it but living your life based on it is a bit silly.
i read a lot of atrology stuffs on the internet because i believe so much in astrology*,-
