Depends on the test and the research being done.
Absolutely. Scientists gain invaluable knowledge and information from their work with animals. This newly acquired information may then be used to better the lives of humans worldwide. In the research I do, we work with rats in the hopes of finding a more reliable and efficient means of performing coronary angioplasties. How could such a feat be accomplished if we needed to use humans as our subjects in percutaneous coronary interventions?
What makes human the superior being? How would you like it if monkeys ran the world and humans became the subjects?
Humans, because of their ability to reason and understand, are at the top of the natural hierarchical structure, Jeremy. That is why they are the superior being.
Mr. Jugs – how do you know that a monkey can’t comprehend and understand. Haven’t scientists discovered this? Do you work with monkeys?
Of course Jeremy goes into personal attack mode…Monkeys may very well be capable of comprehending and understanding, but NOT TO THE SAME DEGREE as humans. The superior species dominates. High school biology, Jeremy?
Eli makes valid points. We want to find a cure for cancer…How can we best attempt to achieve such a goal without having to subject human subjects to the pains of treatment failure and perhaps severe complications? WE USE ANIMALS!
Absolutely. It’s the only way to narrow down which chemicals and compounds are worth the long and expensive process of FDA Approval.
Also for those who aren’t aware, at that stage the test subjects are human volunteers.
Also as an animal tester our job is to do our best to limit the amount of animals needed to produce quality data weather to move forward or to discontinue research.
So the first steps are done on human and animal cell cultures, then you move up to whole living creatures.
really they can reason and understand? Is that why when animals over populate they take care of it themselves. But humans have to be cut off??? Think about that!!!
well have you watched Planet of the Apes? i just think thats what curiosity, technology and power ahs done to our spicies over the years. plus there is still alot of testing on humans, a lot WORSE. i think thats more of an issue.
i agree jeremy.humans should not test on animals.im not sayin that i think its right for humans to suffer on test, but maybe there is something else we can do to find the cure of cancer or other diseases.you have to remember that humans want to find the cure for it not animals.
Yep Tianna I accually agree with you compleatly! Humans are the one’s who are looking for the cure, not animals and I have to say if they are the one’s who want to know they should try it out on themselves. It is cruel and unusual pounidshment to do it to animals but if a human being agrees to be tested on I would do it so my answer is not I disagree!
