Absolutely not. I can't stand this. If you are a celebrity, and you get paid millions of dollars to be someone your not (act), then how do you end up getting involved in politics? It's like just make your movies and shut up.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions…What bothers me, however, are those celebrities who use status to try to convince the public that they are right.
To answer your question . . .
Why would anyone who plays "make believe" for a living be an authority on anything other than make believe?
For once Jared has got it right!
No.
yes they are entitled their opinion. Its their first amendment right, god knows everyone nutcase who can't seem to add to any debate in an intellectual/coherent manner seems to site this point. What bothers me about celebrities adding to the debate is that it doesn't do any good one way or the other. It only serves for fodder for MSM and that includes you Fox (you are now the MSM with more viewers than CNN – stop your whining) to denigrate and continue a news cycle story that gets us nowhere in any particular topic.
Plus, most celebrities are not that smart so what is the point of their drive by comments.

What a silly question. Our constitution guarantees every citizen the right and privilege to participate.
If they know what they are talking abut then yes, there is already so much corruption might as well get an extra laugh out of it.
First Amendment. If actors can use their money to accomplish good in the world, let them. especially if they are educated and well-informed. If they annoy you, change the channel. That's my solution. They can say what they want: I don't have to agree.
People who act are not necessarily stupid–well a few, anyway. There are many people who earn millions of dollars that they contribute to charity–or do they just want a tax write-off?
People who use their fame to steal babies from their parents in Africa as status symbols are no more than kidnappers.
You all know who I mean.
With the free speech-ers here. I don't see why we would prevent people who have wealth and status from exercising it, even if they're actually pathetic idiots. Nobody is required to listen just because Oprah, Limbaugh, Jolie, or Penn has a microphone in front of them. More over, they're not required to then agree with whatever they say either. If they sometimes bring awareness to some cause that people do research or throw money at to resolve, I don't think that's always a bad idea to put up with all the random nonsense they think important the rest of us to hear.
Nobody should require famous people to use their fame to express strong opinions either. This argument comes up frequently if you follow sports, there's an implication that someone famous should use their pedestal to move public opinion or demonstrate support for causes.
No, they should at least go through schooling. I don't care if people vote for them, they shouldn't be in office.
Sun Tzu, if people have your type of thinking, then this country will not advance in the right direction. Celebrities should have 0.02% say in politics, less than an average citizen. Most celebrities don't even have a mind of their own and they shouldn't have a say, unless it's about movies or music.
What do they have to gain from this. They have made the best deal of any human in history. All they have to do is dress up and play pretend like four year olds. In return they are paid ridiculous salaries, have millions of people following them like a god, have awards thrown at them like candy, influence the world through their every word (even though it may be the most ridicoulous idea ever), and genreally get anything they want.
Let the people who know what they’re talking about (i use this term loosely (obama)) do the grown up stuff
