Yea. I always thought the Red Bull one was misleading. Little kids and stuff don't know better and might actually think it does or something.
You can't legislate a companies ability to sell its product. It's a cornerstone of business managment. You cannot enact a law which you will not be able to control later on. Little kids shouldn't be drinking Red Bull, they don't need extra energy. Stop blaming companies/products/tv/games for your own inability to properly raise your child. If your child drank Red Bull and jumped from a window thinking it could fly; then that happened because you never took the time to properly educate your child on the realities of the world. This problem is your fault, and your responsibility. Honestly, neglectful parents should be put shot these days…. Theres too many individuals blaming the government, and society, and advertising….. and then when something hideous happenes because of their idiotic inattention to their children they sue, they demand free money….. You don't like Red Bull, don't drink it… You don't like Coco Pebbles, don't feed it to your kid…. You don't like the way things are run here, figure out an intelligent means to correct it….
Yeah, it is pretty entertaining though.
"Let the buyer beware!"
Well, then you should try the decafe and calm down a bit.
I happen to agree with you on all counts.
But then, that is just my not-so-humble opinion. B)
It's a much better idea to teach your kids that commercials are generally crap, and to never listen to anything they say if there's any small print on the screen or fast talking disclaimers.
Unless it's an advertisement for Micromachines, because that dude talked very fast, and his products were great fun!
It feels great doesn't it? Saying that it is someone else's fault for their actions. The fact of the matter is that corporations all exist just to get your money, and they do this in whatever way that they can. They will put a girl naked on television just to get you to even look at the product. It's all psychology. The most intelligent marketers in the world say that we have no idea what we're doing most of the time. You can take a drink that will kill you, literally, and have the greatest marketers in the world promote it, and it will be in the stores within hours. This is not right, and we can't play this whole "it's your fault" game when things like this happens. There needs to be more regulation.
Yea but what happens when you're the buyer? Are you going to say "Oh, it's my fault" or are you actually going to be pissed off like most other Americans.
Yea but even the adults are falling for it as well. Come on, we can't be pushing everything on the products. We aren't parents yet so we wouldn't know, but when we are, we will definitely be taking the other side.
Caveat emptor
If people are dumb enough to think that there are godaddy commercials with naked women in them, or that beer makes men into a modern Adonis adored by beautiful women, etc, then they deserve to be parted from their money, as that saying goes.
For those who take these slogans litterally, shame on you. Slogans should only be read and represented hypothetically and/or metaphorically. Do you really believe anythin short of scientific gene tampering can give people wings? I don't, so, I interpret it to say, "gives you an extra boost of energy". Don't take corporate slogans literally
