I think so. I mean, African American is the proper term for it but what if some uneducated people don't even know thats the proper name for it?

The Census can ask whatever questions they want, and in whatever manner they want – "We The People" should have the right to not answer any questions we do not want to.
The only real question that the Census should be asking is how many people are actually legal American Citizens.
