Why? And just HOW would the FCC (an American governmental agency) control global broadband in other countries? Also, how would that make the FCC more competitive?

FCC should auction off control over broadband sectors of transmission and not have a centralised "plan" for how it ultimately gets used or distributed.

I'm worried about this being a gateway for the FCC trying to restrict and control content online. Seems like I'm invoking the "slippery slope" argument, but this is the FCC we're talking about.
