No. Let the corporations bailout themselves.
I agree, they got themselves into the mess.
I'm too big to fail. I demand free tax payer money!
Businesses come, and businesses go. Look at the Pony Express – in it's day it was the fastest way to deliver mail, then along came trains, then along came the airplane, and now we have E-Mail.
Cadillac was originally a coach maker for the Fisher Co. Ever hear of "Body by Fisher"?
Businesses come and go.
Our politicians need to understand that no business is too big to fail. For when they do fail, another business – possibly bigger and better – is waiting in the wings to replace them.
Just my not-so-humble opinion.
I thought the purpose of capitalism was to let companies rise and fall under their own merits. Bailing out any private company goes against that concept. If a company is "too big to fail" then aren't they monopolizing an industry to the point of concern?
Never! The government has no place in the private sector. Our founding fathers wanted limited government. Not that it matters, because the people in power don't care about the Constitution and do whatever they want no matter how much the people are against them.
Personally, I like England's form of government. If you are unpopular with the people. you are gone. I wish we had that.
