No way, its a great story to see that this guy no longer would put up with the same old you know what. Good for him.
He did pop the emergency exit on a plane and slide down the float ramp, oh and I think I read that he nabbed a few beers before he did it, so that's probably theft on top of some kind of endangerment of client. The FAA must have some regulation on this that will result in him going to jail for a while. I just don't understand why people are so excited about this dude. Quitting your job in an interesting fashion is one thing, but quitting it while committing a crime, that's not so cool.
I can see a $5,00 fine or maybe MAYBE a month in jail at most (A week is probably fair.) Anything beyond that is ridiculous.
Yeah he really didn't do anything serious in my opinion.
Endangering the lives of others is a serious crime. Disruption of an airliner while the engines are running is endangering the lives of others.
He should be arrested and given his day in court, just like any other common criminal.
Since were rewarding delinquents and making their actions worthwhile with attention. Let us tally it up. Sure find him guilty, fine him, perhaps even a little jail time and then leave the man be. It’s best not to glamorize the whole thing anymore. +10 points for quitting a job with a little style anyone that has ever worked a customer service job knows how much people suck. The fact is although what he did was potentially dangerous; no one was hurt. Speculating about what could have happened won’t help a thing. What did happen? A flight delay, a plane out of commission, and people’s lives put on hold? Then fine him for it and move on. +5 points for showing someone that even on a plane you never know what people are going through and it's better to be nice. +10 points for the beers; might as well your done for anyway right? He is going to have a hard time getting a job now. -30 for being a mentally unstable employee and unemployable by any reputable airline company= -5 points FAIL
