I have actually improved in school and my attitude in school has gotten better. I say yes they should be allowed to recruit at high schools because, no one ever enlists on just a whim and the military is very hard to get into. You have to get above a 40 on the ASVAB just to get looked at, plus only about three percent actually pass the ASVAB then only about two percent of that makes it out of MEPS, and only one percent of the U.S. population of 308,745,538 people serve in the military so they are not praying on weak. plus the high schooler cannot join without BOTH parents signatures until they turn 18 so either way it has nothing to do with "preying" on children. How can we do that, if there is no Army, Navy, Air Force, etc? True, when I graduate I will not be in the same boat as a high school student who enlisted, but several of my current classmates are priors, (prior enlisted right out of hs) and they loved it. The military is not for everybody, but those are the ones who decline the offer to raise their hand and pledge to protect the constitution, and there is no shame in that. Rectuiters do not "use heavy handed tactics that violate the students' right to privacy." Sure they call your house, but don't telemarketers do that? It is a legal way to contact you. I think the military would probably do some of these kids some good. Teach them a marketable trade. Give them some life experiences. Then give them the funding they need to better educate themselves.
