I believe that the amount of carbon released should definitely be maintained, but these companies should be taxed as well. They can give it to scientists or whatever who will actually try to come up with a way to save this planet of ours.
Here is the complete opposite of what Jared believes – and unfortunately for Jared, this is the factual truth;
Carbon is the most abundant and useful of all the elements in the known universe. It is present in literally everything. Trees are built out of it, along with all living things – plant and animal alike. Therefore putting a "tax" on carbon emissions is the most idiotic thing that any group of politicians have ever come up with. Unfortunately, they are our currant batch of politicians in Washington D.C.
Just my not-so-humble opinion. B)
I don't see how taxing emissions would be considered ridiculous. If you placed yourself in a garage with only carbon monoxide, would you be just as well off outside in the open air? No. If we continue to emit deadly compounds, as well as destroy the natural sinks designed to absorb and recycle these compounds, then we are gearing up for a disaster. In order to curb emissions or encourage proper disposal or emission, a tax should be enacted.
I'm actually okay with pricing in the costs and advantages of producing energy with types of pollutants. But I'd rather they do it by doing a net zero tax and cut incomes taxes for end consumers, cut energy subsidies, etc. The idea would be to encourage energy and pollution efficiency by providing a tax that could be legally evaded over time without needing new loopholes to write into the laws the way the income tax does.
Do you know that A nation's tax system is often a reflection of its communal values or/and the values of those in power. To create a system of taxation, a nation must make choices regarding the distribution of the tax burden—who will pay taxes and how much they will pay—and how the taxes collected will be spent.
All large businesses incur administrative costs in the process of delivering revenue collected from customers to the suppliers of the goods or services being purchased. Taxation is no different, the resource collected from the public through taxation is always greater than the amount which can be used by the government.
