Yes, the amount of money they get paid is ridiculous. There should be a salary cap so that kids grow up wanting to be doctors or lawyers, instead of acting.
No.
I have that same attitude towared all those Indian Casinos – If the white man is so stupid as to waste his hard earned money on gambling, then kudos to the Indians for taking it.
If producers are stupid enough to pay out millions for someone to play make believe, then kudos to the actors who take it.
NO, NO, NO. They get paid what the market and the industry will bear. Why should the movie companies and advertisers get all the profits? Same issue with athletes, why should billionaire owners make all the profits from the athletes work?
My issue is that movie companies pay certain actors so much money it impacts their bottom line so we end with crappy movies because they need to sell a certain amount of tickets to make back their $$$. At some point, the asking prices decreases as the actor generates less ticket sales.
If a movie makes $1Billion why shouldnt xxx get $20million dollars if that is the reason you are going to see the movie? Does it make me happy, no.

Absolutely not. The government has no business setting price caps in the private market. Actors make what consumers say they are worth. Consumers have the power to cap their prices but they are too busy going to the movies or purchasing the DVDS and buying all their marketed products like clothing lines, fragrance products and even their salad dressings to bother with it. As long as consumers want the product then they should be able to profit from it.
Actors are paid with and spending money Americans willing give them, not with tax dollars they are forced to pay even if they disagree with how it's spent, so leave them alone.
If producers are dumb enough to pay them millions to play make believe, then they should be smart enough to take it.
Nah, what if you were an actor Jared?
If you want to cap the actors, you have to go after the theater and production companies and place a cap on ticket prices. That's the root of the problem.
How would price controls make any sense in either direction?
Households can conserve money and spend it on something useful other than making rich actors.
They can already do that.
Yes, put a salary cap on all these spoiled actors. All they do is make millions and whine and think they deserve all the money they get. The problem is that these people are actually admired. That's how messed up this country is. They don't deserve anything but a few claps for their performances and minimum wage.
They are a bunch of little children the way they act.
Yea but there is no competition at all when it comes to the movies. All ticket prices are practically the same. It's a monopoly.
Market access is variable and people are not required to participate at a price they don't want to.
Have you ever noticed that you would pay $10 for a movie-ticket if you wanted to go to a movie tonight. Then, around 4 months later, you can get that movie sent your house for free for only $10 a month with Netflix and you can get all the movies you want?
The movie ticket prices haven't changed at all. It goes up .25 cents at times, but never has gone down.
You can wait until particular days, times of the day, or several weeks later to see it in a cheaper venue and the price will change. The market allows people to choose freely, the problem is that most people who wish to attend make the same choices (weekends and nights) so the prices remain relatively flat.
The taxes that multimillionaire actors pay supply the government with a lot of revenue to fund programs for the needy. Why should we encourage them to leave?
