Yes, I believe it should. Anything that is not healthy for the individual should be taxed more heavily to get more money for the city/state.
Now the price for a soda is now $1.25 right? So why should we pay more than that?
*sigh* (groan, grumble, grumble)!?!
So I quite booze way back in 1986 and replaced it with Coca-Cola Classic. And NOW you want to make me pay an extra tax on it? I suppose that you will next put a tax on the toothpicks that I replaced cigarettes with back in 1991!?!
I am just darn tired of you young-uns wanting us old farts to pay your way for you. :p
Gonna join the T.E.A. (Taxed Enough Already) party . . . TOGA-TOGA-TOGA
lol that's a good one PapaDawg, Taxed Enough Party.
Yeah, and we're gonna invite Nancy Pelosi to be our TAGA Poster Girl.
do ya think ole HH will put her in the center fold?
I do not think that there should be a tax on soda.
I agree that we have been taxed enough on so much already. Next they'll be teling us bloggers that we will be taxed on every article we post.
Regarding soda though, I do think we need to quit putting vending machines with soda and energy drinks in our schools.
lol
I agree man. I go to college now and it's these deals with Coca-Cola or Pepsi that give the school money, but when a student is thirsty, it's the only place to go to between classes.
College is different and we should be more lenient but it definitely should be stopped for high school and below.
No. Taxing a certain behavior with the view of discouraging said behavior would be an infringement upon personal liberty. Maybe being fat (or trying to be fat) makes me happy. My prerogative.
Oh, but that's right. I belong to the state. So my body doesn't belong to me.
Try getting rid of the subsidies for corn (corn syrup) and the "protective" tariffs on sugar first if you really want to rig the market price of soda.
