I believe so. They are very dangerous.
As long as you have idiots going to them, it should be controlled.
Unfortunately, we really can't legislate against stupidity.
The science seems to say that they are dangerous things so law should be tightened up.
They have before. The Baby Safe Haven laws protect babies from stupid parents who leave their children in garbage cans and stuff.
Fortunately, we can fix dumb folks by educating them.
Unfortunately, we just can't fix stupid.
For those who just have to have that perfect year-round tan, we can put warning labels on those machines.
For those who are just too stupid to follow those warnings, well, as Forest Gump's Mom said . . . "You just can't fix stupid".
Just my not-so-humble opinion. B)
But that doesn't make it OK. Congress also passed laws about healthcare and stimulus, and (might I add) the Federal Reserve Act. Does that make it right? No.
You can't compare healthcare, the federal reserve (which I might add is one of the greatest acts ever passed), and the stimulus package (which is creating jobs, and which has improved our economy), to tanning bed laws.
I was merely exposing the fallacy in Jared's argument that since the Congress passed it (at least, this is how I read it), that it was alright.
And I know I digress, but the Federal Reserve Act is completely unconstitutional.
