They deserve a hug but not tax credit.
Maybe if they move out. But not if they get a gun. You don't necessarily need that to defend yourself. What you need is to get out, or have money for lawyers and such.

Victims of domestic abuse do not need a tax credit for buying a gun. If they buy a gun then they will kill the abuser, therefore giving them a tax credit for buying a gun is tantamount to legalizing murder.
Doesn't make sense by any stretch of the imagination.
I could write volumes on domestic violence, but what I have just said will suffice for now.
