hmmm…No where does God's Word say for one to quit their job, but we are to be watchmen, looking for our Saviour's return as we see the day approach as the signs that Jesus and the Old Testament prophets gave us assure us that the days of our Lord's return is near.
The Second Coming can be a bad return, instead of a nice and pleasant one.

Sort of depends on how you read the Mayan calendar and which doomsayer is talking about it.
Otherwise yes. People have been "predicting" the end of the world for centuries using specific dates and years and vague references to ancient "prophecies". I'm not holding my breath that they'll get one right.
The only thing that's going to happen in 2012 is that the Mayans will need a new calender.
I am very afraid that it will be a horrible movie, but will gross millions anyways.

I don't know everyone, although it seems like crap, why has mother nature been turning against us lately with these storms and all that have been increasing in impact?
Whether it's the end of the world or not, there's not point living in fear. If we're going to die on 21/12/12, I'll start worrying about it on 21/12/12.

Not worried at all about a group of people who made a stupid calendar that is supposed to run out by the year 2012. If that calendar was made hundreds of years ago, and since then, we upgraded our time zones and everything, how do we know what exactly is December 21, 2012?
I will worry. You know, need to sell my “Nuclear Fallout protective gear” to all those who think nuclear fallout from all the nukes detonating at the same time for no reason other than the fact that it is 20/12 will kill everyone. I need to worry that my “Asteroid reflective shielding units” are sold quickly and I can escape with my profit before 21/12
I think it might happen but I dont, and one that day comes and nothing happens i think theres going to be alot of people. stealing and killing people.
I have to agree here, the Mayans calculated hundreds of years into the future for thousands of eclipses, if they stopped, they probably just got bored.
Should we fear 12/12/2012? Uh, gee, I don't know. Should we have feared Y2K? Nope to both. It's just some scare tactic based on some ancient Mayan calender. I'm not afraid.

People have feared things for ever, there is a list of items that point to the world ending on the 12th december 2012, but none of them are really proved.

Hmmm i forgot to laugh…..has anyone thought about other reasons for why the calender could have ended on that date? I bet they ran out of room, they needed a break from that stuff too, the calender cant just go on forever can it? And does anyone know their history anymore? Cortez and his men got rid of the Myans and Aztecs when they discovered them.
