First and foremost . . . Git yer fat lazy glutimus maximuses up and out of your chair and away from your computers :p
Okay, seriously now. Read the content labels of all the food you buy at the market – avoid all the sugars and salts (Google food sweeteners and preservatives to find out their many names), they have many forms of them with different names and literally ALL of our processed foods are crammed full of them.
I was diagnosed as hypertensive (very high blood pressure) about fifteen years ago while I was still working (I am an ex cop) and ordered to attend a "Heart Healthy" class where I learned all kinds of things as well as how to read product content labels. By following these labels and watching (not drastically changing) what I was eating, I managed to stay off B/P medications for almost ten years and when I was put on those meds it was at the minimal dose. This practice, along with moderate amounts of cardiovascular exercising each day (I ride a bicycle up to ten miles per day) has allowed me to keep my weight below 200 lbs (my one surviving sibling, a brother, tips the scale at over 350 lbs and we are the same height).
I think I am in good shape! After all ROUND is a shape!

Just my not-so-humble opinion. B)
Wouldn't know. I've never been even overweight even on the ridiculous BMI scale that has no bearing on the physical realities of whether or not people are "out of shape".
The government is already on it.
