Nelson Mandela.
A Communist?
Wow, Sal, are YOU out of touch with reality!
There are no great leaders, just mindless followers who think they are.
We individuals are our own leaders, that is unless we are way too cowardly to admit it . . .
Just my not-so-humble opinion. B)
Depends on your definition of a leader. Alexander the Great conquered the entire known world, so I guess he's the greatest military leader. FDR would get my vote as the greatest leader of the US democracy. Ghandi is the greatest moral leader that I know of. Nelson Mandela is perhaps the most inspirational leader of our time. I guess what I'm saying is that the question is a little hard to answer without more perameters.
Yes I am. See the question was not who had the best morals or ideas, but who was the best at leading. Hitler could be one of them for all that matters.
winston churchill by far
Michael beat me to it, the question needs a context. Sal makes a very good point because if by leader we mean a politician managing to get the masses to accept and go along with his ideas, HItler has to be one of the greatest.
FDR for U.S. democracy? Sure if you're okay with the guy that basically started the welfare state in this country. Way to go FDR!
But as far as greatest moral leader? I would choose Jesus Christ over Gandhi.
Moral AND Spiritual for me.
Militarily has to be Alexander the Great. Moraly is Jesus Christ. Politically I think I’d say George Washington.
