No. I don't think they ever will be. A lot of people prefer it to be on paper so it will continue like that for a very, very long time.
There is a disturbing trend that is showing its ugly head in the schools some of our Grandchildren are attending, and that is most of their studies are done on computers. Why is this disturbing? Not every family can afford to purchase and pay for the cell phone connection to the so-called "smart book" tablet type computers that some of the school districts are now demanding that the students have. This would put public education (which should be free for anyone attending) out of reach to those children of people who are not high-end and have high paying jobs. Also, some school districts are no longer teaching the basic educational skills that are necessary for one to "get along" in a low tech world. Writing skills, basic mathematical skills, and reading comprehension skills are being set aside to make room for high-tech gadgets that emphasize watching video type lessons. These are just the tip of the iceberg, so to speak, and are some of the many reasons that most of my children have home-schooled our Grandchildren.
