I think so. The whole economy is heading towards the free market.
As long as the Chinese people are willing to be shoved around by their government, they will never be free.
But then again, a true Democracy is nothing but a select small group of people controlling the rest of that countries population so they already have democracy to some extent.
Just my not-so-humble opinion. B)
Do we want them to have a democracy? I'm sure they'd love mob rule…
In any case, they might be able to thrash out a Republic…if they wanted to.
Define democracy!
Historically it seems highly unlikely that China would have a Western (especially American) style democracy.
But China is an ancient civilization with many ups and downs. They would most certainly come up with a system which would be unique to the Chinese and be suitable.
America does not have a democracy. We have a Constitutional Republic.
They might go straight to an 'economocracy', where your dollar really is your vote and you buy elections literally.
The chinese are still our enemy however you look at it.
