While creative destruction is a hallmark of the chaos of the market, and the internet marketplace in particular, I don't see where facebook and google are as yet actively competing over information distribution as a business model.
They seem to be more likely to form a synergistic relationship than a competitive one.
Google and Facebook are not the same thing. Google is a search engine with Gmail and Facebook is a social website, i see no reason why google would suffer.
