Will the 30,000 troops “surge” be successful in Afghanistan?

I definitely wish it was more than 30,000 troops, but hopefully it does the job of pushing al Qaeda and the Taliban back on their heels.
You cannot stop these terrorists. They live in the hills, literally. They are scattered everywhere. Let's get these Americans home and let the arabs fight the arabs.
No way to stop these people. Afghanistan is a tribal region. You can't fight an ideology with the military. Especially in that part of the world.
Only time will tell.

I believe it will be successful in gaining at least two of it's objectives.
1) The record crop of the CIA's poppie seeds must be guarded from the Taliban who do not permit their growth when they are in power.
2) It will keep the troops from being in America where they could be the most use in securing our borders and perhaps even participate in patriotic events designed to oust the Progressives from our political arena.
